Training and development is a subsystem of an HR Function. It ensures that randomness is reduced and learning or behavioral change takes place in structured planned way. The principal objective of training and development is to make sure the availability of skilled resources in an organization.
It is a learning process that involves the acquisition of knowledge,
sharpening of skills, concepts, rules, or changing of attitudes and
behaviors to enhance the performance of employees. Learning simply means
“Change in Behavior”. This is what we mean by training and that is what we
aim at.
